About Me
My interest in natural and allopathic medicine stems from the influences of my maternal grandparents. My grandfather was a pathologist and my grandmother was a herbalist and both were instrumental in exposing me to both natural and traditional aspects of medicine. While raising a young family, I applied my-self to careers that were scientific, but continued to yearn to incorporate natural aspects and approaches. Therefore, after being in the academic and research fields of Neuroscience, Neurobiology and Behaviour, I turned to the study of Naturopathic Medicine in order to fulfill my desire to see greater results in approaches to health and wellness. I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and practiced in Northern Ontario for 13 years before relocating my practice to Terra Cotta to be closer to family. In my practice, I utilize a number of different approaches in the assessment and treatment of chronic and acute conditions. The primary therapies include Naturopathic, Auricular and BioEnergetic Medicine, Bio-Resonance, and Light and Sound Therapy. Treatments may involve dietary adjustments and nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine, homeopathy, traditional oriental medicine and acupuncture, hydrotherapy, physical medicine and life-style counselling. The approaches I use are based on the philosophy that governs Naturopathic Medicine, so that effective health care is given with the intent to do no harm, to respect and promote self-healing, and to address the root cause of the disease. I treat the whole person through individualized treatment, teaching the principles of healthy living and promoting health and well-being.
