About Me
I entered the medical field when I was 17 years old – immediately upon graduating high school. At the age of 23, I graduated Kazakh National Medical University in Kazakhstan, which was a part of the formerly Soviet Union with MD degree. Then, I moved to USA where I took a short bridging program at Houston Community College in order to pass the Texas Department of Health’s exam – this made me eligible to work as an Emergency Medical Technician. I spent three years of work in the Houston EMS before I moved to Russia to reunite with my family and while I was there, I practiced as a General Practitioner in a municipal clinic. From 1998 until 2011, I worked in Kaliningrad, Russia as a physician and a health care manager. I participated in a project of local health care reform as one of the key decision making personalities. This resulted in total shift of local health care from the old style “Soviet model” to a modern model based on focusing on primary chain of health care. I moved to Canada with my family in 2011. As soon as we settled here. I decided to get into the circle as a health professional through the Massage Therapy program. The Massage Therapy Program allowed me to discover a new approach in treatment of muscular and joint dysfunctions, which has been abandoned by most allopathic physicians, who were trained in Western - type medical schools. My previous training and experience complemented my new skills. I use classical Swedish Massage techniques and deep tissue massage, as well as, other modalities defined by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario within the RMT Scope of Practice.
